How We Rate & Review
At AURAI, we don't just read spec sheets. We test smart glasses in the real world—on commutes, during workdays, and while gaming—to give you an objective "Daily Usability Score." Here is exactly how that score is calculated.
1. Comfort (40% of Score)
Smart glasses are useless if you can't wear them. Comfort is our most heavily weighted metric.
- Weight: We penalize every gram over 50g heavily for daily-wear categories.
- Balance: Does it slide down your nose? Is it front-heavy?
- Heat: Does the temple get hot against your skin after 30 mins of use?
2. Battery & Efficiency (30% of Score)
We test "Real World" runtime, not just manufacturer claims.
- Mixed Use Test: 1 hour of audio, 30 mins of video, standby for the rest.
- Passive Drain: How much battery is lost when sitting on the desk?
- Charging Speed: Can you get 2 hours of use from a 15-minute top-up?
3. Value (30% of Score)
Is it worth the price tag? We calculate features-per-dollar.
- Feature Density: Does it have electrochromic dimming? 6DoF tracking? AI?
- Ecosystem: Do you need to buy a $100 adapter to make it work with an iPhone?
- Build Quality: Do the hinges feel premium or plastic?
Subjective Testing
Beyond the numbers, every review includes a "Living With It" section. This covers the intangible "cool factor," social awkwardness (does it look like a camera?), and the friction of daily use.
"We believe the best smart glasses are the ones you actually want to wear. Tech specs don't matter if they stay in the case."
