Brand History

Chapter 1

Founded in 1936 by Bausch & Lomb, Ray-Ban originated from a need for protective eyewear for US Army Air Corps pilots. The iconic Aviator was born, followed by the legendary Wayfarer in 1952.

Chapter 2

In 1999, the brand was acquired by Luxottica Group, further cementing its status as a global leader in eyewear.

Chapter 3

In 2021, Ray-Ban embarked on its most ambitious journey yet by partnering with Meta (formerly Facebook) to launch Ray-Ban Stories, its first generation of smart glasses. This was followed by the critically acclaimed Ray-Ban Meta collection in 2023, merging timeless style with cutting-edge AI and camera technology.
